Rods for sale

Most of our rods are built on request of one of our customers and our
stock of finished rods is generally very limited.

We do, however, have a few rods in stock.

For discounted demo rods: Have a look at this page.

SOLGT: Affinity X 890-4

The Affinity X models are the premium blanks from CTS. They are fast and
powerful and this 8 weight rod is a perfect choice for bonefish, pike and coastal seatrout in windy conditions.

The full wells handle is built with a narrow section of Copano burl framed
with a narrow band of black. When wet, the burl section of the handle has
more friction than the cork. You will immediately value the difference!

The rod is wrapped with rust coloured thread  and the stripping guides and ferrule wraps are tipped with double trim bands of silver.

The reel seat is a nickel silver anodized RGMS from REC with burnt burl
insert. We have been using these reel seats for several years as the
result is a very light weight rod.

Supplied with rod sock and alu tube.

Rod weight: 99 grams
Price: 4395 DKK / 581 euro

Progressive power - Affinity MX890-4

Anglers who prefer the classic progressive rod taper are generally very
impressed with the MX series.

This 8 weight is the perfect companion on salmon rivers, pike lakes and along the shores of the Baltic Sea. It has a deep, powerful action with plenty of backbone for big fish and heavy casting. It is fitted with Pacific Bay hardware - except for the reel seat which is a U15HG from Struble. Wraps are green and the  stripping
guides and ferrule wraps are tipped
with double trim bands of silver.

The rod is supplied with rod sock and alu tube.

Rod weight: 112 grams
Price: 4125 DKK / 545 euro

The Lindenborg Special - MX 696-4

The Lindenborg Special was designed for summer run seatrout in the Lindenborg Aa in Northern Denmark. Using an Affinity MX 696-4 blank we have built what we feel is the finest #6 rod for summer steelhead, salmon and seatrout.

The rod has more power that the regular
9 feet MX rods and the extra 6
inches make line control on the water so much easier. We prefer to use this rod with a floating line (Rio Gold #6 is a good choice) - but medium sinkers and multi tip lines are also fine.

The stripping guide is a size 12 gold Zirkonia ring and light TiCH frame
and REC Recoil snakes and tip top.  The wraps are light brown with a
single dark brown trim ring. Reel seat
is REC’s model RSNX with zebra
wood.

The rod is supplied with rod sock, alu tube and REC’s nickel silver
polishing cloth for the reel seat.

Rod weight: 110 grams
Price: 4500 DKK / 595 euro

Smooooth action - Vintage 686-4

This rod is not for everyone as it’s light, deep and slow rod taper is
very different from most modern rods.

The Vintage series was designed to blend the tradition of cane actions into the most high performance materials. This model is no longer in CTS’s standard range of blanks but we have had a few extras produced as we personally are very fond of the 686-4 for light sea trout fishing with nymphs, dries and small wet flies.

The rod would also make a fine dry fly rod for brown trout, grayling and rainbows.

In the tradition of cane rods we have fitted this rod with a agate stripping guide (size 12) and used a combination of standard and lite wire snakes and tiptop from Pacific Bay.

The 6.5 inch western handle is made of our finest cork and tipped with a single narrow band of burnt burl. The reel seat is Struble’s wonderful nickel silver U24 with cocobolo wood.

CTS rate this rod as a #6 - and we use it with #6 lines. But it does have less power than most #6 rods and many people prefer to fish it with a #5 line.

Rod weight: 96 grams
Price: 4315 DKK / 570 euro
